National Parks are staying for good of course. Trips to Yellowstone, Grand Teton and others have been a staple and always good trips for novice and expert outdoorsy people. We may see the trails and hiking routes switched up but the fun will remain in some of North America’s best natural spaces.

Spain is not to be missed and the next summer’s trip will be rich with culture and natural beauty. Students get to work on Spanish skills and use them in an area where they are immersed in the language. Bull fights, great food and outdoor sports are just a few of the things that will get crossed off the list and never forgotten.

galapagos

Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands are beyond beautiful locations that are being worked on this year. There is no shortage of diverse wildlife or friendly communities to visit, so even if the locations are slightly different than last year, they will not be any less quality. This summer will be a chance to explore territories that many have never seen nor will see in their lifetime.

These are just  a sample of trips that will get a bit of a face lift in order to let other students get a unique experience. Enrollment starts pretty soon, and there are special discounts for signing up before Nov 1.

See you all for the next adventure!

Wilderness Ventures Fiji Service Teaches Teens to Be Kids Again

This may look like a silly video of kids doing a dance, but it’s also a sweet way to show how community service with the local children can help teens find happiness with whatever they have.

The kids in Fiji are so full of life that it made the Wilderness Ventures volunteers return to their elementary school roots and enjoy the silly game rather than feel like they were too cool for it.

It was humbling and fun, which is all you can really hope for from the end of a trip.

How To Be A Leader

Through Wilderness Ventures worldwide Leadership Adventures, young people can gain self-confidence and learn to be young leaders as they explore the great outdoors in places like Alaska, Montana, Colorado and more. These leadership adventures invite teens to be part of a small, non-competitive group of fellow students. Through a variety of activities like kayaking, hiking, volunteering, rafting, fishing, and more, participants learn wilderness survival skills, build self-confidence, and learn decision-making and leadership skills.

How To Be Part Of A Team

With Wilderness Ventures’ small group teen tours, students have an opportunity to be a part of a highly supportive team in wilderness areas around the world. Learning how to be a positive, valued, contributing member of a team is an invaluable skill in the workforce, and students have ample time to practice this while participating in a variety of wilderness adventure activities with fellow teammates.

How To Be Self-Reliant

Survival in the wilderness—and in the ‘real world’ after college—is very dependent on being self-reliant and being able to make responsible, practical decisions. With Wilderness Ventures teen summer camps, young people learn the value of self-reliance by being presented with opportunities to learn wilderness survival techniques, strategies, problem solving skills, and more.

In today’s competitive job market, being able to step outside of one’s comfort zone and expanding personal boundaries can be a very attractive attribute. Wilderness Ventures tours, besides being exhilarating and fun, can challenge teens to push past their own personal boundaries. Nothing can be more exciting or more challenging then summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, for example, or navigating the Mighty Colorado River in an inflatable kayak. Teens that travel with Wilderness Ventures can learn to expand their personal boundaries through adventure travel.

How To Be Considerate Of The World

Many of Wilderness Ventures trips focus intently on philanthropy, volunteering, wildlife conservation, community service, and more. Teens that have a global awareness and a healthy appreciation for other cultures and the natural world around them may be more prepared for life during or after college when they encounter new people and places. In addition to learning about other cultures and seeing beautiful places around the world, some tours offer students an opportunity to earn up to 60 service hours through hands-on volunteer projects.

French class in school may seem like a never ending spill of words and movies, but when you learn it in France, it takes on a whole new meaning.

That’s why Wilderness Ventures believes in on-site learning with a French language adventure. Teens right how have completed a week of 3 to 4 hour French lessons in Chamonix followed by traveling to areas where they can use their new skills with native speakers.

It wouldn’t be a Wilderness Ventures trip without a trip to the Alps for nature exploration, shopping and learning about the area from people that work in the area in an outdoor career to give the teens some future career ideas.

Next will be a trip to the city of love, Paris, and do some hiking and much more. Stay tuned and au revior for now!

Our adventurers turned their experience into a clever song to one of their favorite tunes. They wrote and memorized all of the lyrics then were brave enough to sing it in front of everyone.
